There's a man down under who might have just broken the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous game-playing session ever, according to Polygon. Okan Kaya, a 28-year-old from Sydney, Australia has supposedly played Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for 135 hours and 50 minutes. The nearly non-stop session spans more than five and half days.
The current record, which Kaya would theoretically displace, is 120 hours and 7 minutes. Which was set by two Canadians who both played Resistance.
According to the rules, players are allowed 10 minutes breaks every hour. Plus, time from unused breaks are can be accumulated, to allow for extended rests. Kaya used this to his advantage and indulge in naps over the course of seven days.
So perhaps his achievement is not as impressive as some might think. Then again, given all the serious health issues that can stem from sleep deprivation, including brain damage, it's a good thing that Kaya put his health first. If you can call it that.
The record has yet to be verified, but Kaya expects it to be soon.
