Gothic strategy title Darkest Dungeon will be getting a new expansion called ‘Crimson Court’, developer Red Hook Studios has confirmed. While the previous update added a new Radiant mode (which slashes the time it takes to complete Darkest Dungeon by half) amongst other tweaks, Crimson Court is designed to bring in several additional changes.
Crimson Court introduces a new hero class, a new wandering boss (The Fanatic), an extra dungeon region (The Courtyard) and new enemies to vanquish. Four additional courtyard bosses will reportedly come with ultra complex mechanics, and lore-based trinkets will be applied to every hero, with set bonuses included. New prestige buildings and gigantic maps with locked doors and prisoner rooms are also on the way.
Darkest Dungeon Crimson Court will launch on June 19 for PC, Mac and Linux via Steam, GOG, the Humble Store and Twitch. It’s a paid expansion and will set you back $9.99 USD. Crimson Court is also planned to released on PlayStation sometime in July.
We reviewed Darkest Dungeon and thought it was Lovecraftian horror done right.
