There are plenty of gamers eagerly waiting to get their hands on a copy of the upcoming installment to the God of War franchise. Kratos is back but instead of fighting off Greek mythology gods, gamers will be up against a series of Norse gods.
Some gamers may find that the change of scenery and lore could mean that Vikings may make their appearance in some fashion or another. Well thanks to a report made by PlayStation Lifestyle, we now know that’s simply not the case.
God of War has Cory Barlog directing the game and he was recently asked on Twitter if gamers will see some of the more iconic Vikings in the upcoming title. According to Cory Barlog, this upcoming God of War video game takes place during a time before Vikings, but again, no specifics were mentioned as of yet.
@corybarlog Hello cory, a curious question, ragnar lothbrok or bjorn will appear in god of war, since they are iconic vikings, greetings

We’re still waiting for new details regarding the narrative and gameplay of this soft reboot, but we do know that the title takes place several years after Kratos took his vengeance against the Olympian gods. Now fathering a young boy named Atreus, Kratos must control his rage and train Atreus on how to survive the world full of monsters and warriors.
It’s likely we’ll know more details about God of War during this year’s E3 event, more specifically, during Sony’s press briefing. In the meantime, take a look at the game gallery down below along with the trailer for the title within the video embedded above.
