From the shores of Barcelona, Spain, comes Cat Logic Games’ The Path To Die, an upcoming 2D action adventure title that takes place in feudal Japan. Players adopt the role of a rogue samurai without a job, who must infiltrate a humongous imperial palace, take out enemies, and rediscover their sense of purpose.
With a kickstarter campaign planned for May, The Path To Die team are busily tweaking textures and enhancing AI. Interestingly, the combat system is directly affected by the way players move a gamepad controller; If the joystick is moved in a semicircle from left to right, the samurai will execute an attack in that exact fashion. Aside from combat, The Path To Die offers a ton of exploration, secret loot to discover, and a beautifully realised pixel art aesthetic that borrows from traditional Japanese art.
The Path To Die was recently greenlit on Steam. We can expect the game to release on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
