10. SPAAAAAAACE:
PREMISE:
Well, there’s no history to base this one on. The best we can compare it to is the epic space mission in Call of Duty: Ghosts. In the sequence you pick up as the space station gets invaded and you have to fend off the enemy in a zero-gravity situation. It was pretty awesome. As for a narrative premise, you could easily envision the cinematic and futuristic World War 3 kind of setting, based on the digital age, hacking and space warfare.
WEAPONS:
Don’t think Star Wars, but definitely something similar. I’d like to think we could introduce new mechanics to a Call of Duty game set in deep space. Like oxygen and energy levels, laser rifles and solar powered pistols. I want grenades that can create pockets of gravity, slamming enemies to the ground if you’re inside, or flying into space below you if you’re outside. Just imagine shooting an enemies helmet until it breaks, his face blows up and you drift through the mess as it sticks to your glass. That my friends and fellow readers is the real edge-of-the-screen “red jelly” we have come to know and love.
LIKELIHOOD:
There’s been many rumors and leaks about this one so it’s pretty safe to assume this will happen. Whether it could release in 2016 we don’t know, I’m just happy it wasn’t 2001, because I would not be able to escape the grasps of HAL9000.
