These are absolutely the best games of the first half of 2015.

With July upon us, we've come to the end of the first half of 2015. The video game scene has been delivered nothing but fantastic title after fantastic title since the start of the year and it doesn't look like the wild ride is about to end at any time soon, with more titles, including Fallout 4 on the way for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. 

We've put together a list of the top ten best games of the first half of 2015 with that in mind, celebrating the games that have come before. You'll want to pick these games up even if your gaming backlog is full to the brim and play them immediately, because you're really missing out on some good times if you don't play them right away.

10. Life is Strange

9. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

7. Mortal Kombat X

6. Pillars of Eternity

It's everything fans of Planescape Torment and Baldur's Gate have ever asked for in a modern RPG. 

5. Cities Skylines

First you're a kid, and then you're a squid. This online shooter from Nintendo is a total blast. 

2. Bloodborne

One of the scariest games on this list, Bloodborne is Dark Souls reinvented.

  • Release date: 19 May 2015

Easily one of the best games of the decade thus far, The Witcher 3 is a game you absolutely can't miss.
