#5. Military Grade Rounds [Metro 2033]
In the post-apocalyptic setting of Metro 2033, bullets are your most valuable resource. There are two types of bullets you’ll find in your scrounging — crappy bullets, and high-quality military grade rounds from the days before the war. You’re free to use these bullets to deal more damage to enemies and make your gunfire way more reliable. But we’re never going to do that.
All bartering in Metro 2033 is done through bullets. And your military grade rounds are just too valuable. You can trade for better gear, new mods for your guns, and other awesome stuff. You could say we’re still using military grade rounds, just not for their original intended purpose.
#6. XP & Loot Booster Mods [Borderlands 3]
XP and loot are all we’re ever fighting for in Borderlands 3. More and faster loot? Of course we’re going to use the XP and Loot Booster included as a pre-order bonus. We’re just going to wait for the right time — save it for later, when we’re ready to seriously farm for the best possible gear.
Except that isn’t possible. For pre-ordering Borderlands 3, players received special mods that increase XP and loot… up to Level 10. If players didn’t use the mods immediately, they were basically useless. Some of us didn’t use them at all, only realizing the limitation when it was too late. Here’s a rare example of an item we all wanted to use — but saving it for later? That wasn’t in the card, merc.
These are the items we could do without. Find more on the next page.
