#8 Phantasy Star Online 2
After being available since 2012 in Japan, western markets finally received Phantasy Star Online 2. This is an MMORPG that has been around since 2000 but now the sequel will bring players a new look into the series on both Xbox One and PC in 2020. Overall, the game follows a narrative where players become a member of a research team known as Arks. Seeking out ships across the galaxy in hopes of studying the planets, however, it seems that your journey may prove to help save the entire universe.
This franchise has a massive following and chances are if you’re a fan you’ve been enjoying this game since it first became available in North America. There’s even a big update planned for next year called Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis for fans to get ready for. Unfortunately, it’s only available on the PC and Xbox One platforms here in North America while in Japan the title is also available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch platforms.
#7 Kartrider Drift
The kart racing genre has mainly been dominated by Nintendo with its popular Mario Kart franchise. However, a new free-to-play title is coming in hopes of giving fans a similar fun and fast-paced kart racer. Developed under Nexon, we have Kartrider Drift, a game that throws in some unique characters, diverse courses, and a variety of power-ups that we are used to seeing in this racing genre.
This is also a game that will apparently be supported for a good long while. We imagine that there will be some new courses, events, or even racers added into the mix in future updates. Furthermore, it’s a game that’s also set for Xbox One and PC platforms so we’re uncertain if this will hit other platforms later on but at the very least these two platforms will support cross-play. Another aspect of the game that we’re waiting to hear about is just when this game will actually release into the market. We’re only given a 2020 launch window so far.
