The Outer Worlds: How To Find All 5 Science Weapons | ‘Weapons From The Void’ Locations Guide

October 27, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Shrink, float, or mind-control your enemies in The Outer Worlds with these hidden Science weapons.

Shrink anything with the handy Shrink Ray.

We’ve already started hunting down Unique Weapons — special guns that are extremely powerful in The Outer Worlds — and there are even weirder weapons to find if you look very carefully around the galaxy. Once you find one of the secret ‘Science Weapons’, you’ll unlock a lengthy side-quest to track down all five called ‘Weapons From The Void’. We’re going to show you where to find all five.

Science Weapons are basically ultra-unique guns. They have completely new models, and each one has a special function that you won’t find on any other gun in the game. For example, the easiest Science Weapon to grab is the Shrink Ray. It looks like an alien blaster from Fallout 4, and it shrinks any enemy you shoot. There are even weirder and wilder weapons to find, so check the locations below for all the info you’ll need.

How To Find All 5 Science Weapons | ‘Weapons From The Void’ Locations Guide

Shrink Ray: Phineas’ Lab – On the table, just to the right of Phineas himself! You can grab this weapon as soon as you leave Terra 2 for the first time.

  • The Shrink Ray is an weapon that looks just like the Alien Blaster and literally shrinks enemies for a few seconds, making them weaker.

Prismatic Hammer: Groundbreaker – Enter the bunk room to the left of the Promenade entrance, past the Security Office. Right next to the door, climb some crates and sneak across the bed units to reach a vent. Defeat the Outlaws inside, collect the door key, and enter the locked door to find the Prismatic Hammer inside.

  • This super-giant hammer generates elemental explosions with power attacks, and deals all four types of elemental damage.

Mandibular Rearranger: Scylla – At the small abandoned living area, there’s a single room structure to the right of the road. Go inside to find the unique science weapon. It’s up the road from the General Store.

  • This weird shock stick causes enemies to slow and eventually stop movement completely for a time.

Goop Gun: Monarch – Travel to the UDL Lab in the Monarch Wilderness, and reach the second floor. Look on the table to collect the UDL Lab Weapon Terminal Keycard, then use it on the terminal downstairs to unlock this special weapon case. Make sure to answer “Protect The Chairman”!

  • A grenade launcher that shoots out weird globs of goo. Enemies caught under the effect lose gravity and float up into the sky.

Mind Control Ray: Monarch – For the final science weapon, go to the Abandoned Lab on Monarch, in Cascadia. You’ll enter this lab in the side-quest ‘Space-Crime Continuum’. Down in the lab, go find an ‘Exit’ sign, and just past that there’s a ladder. Climb it and jump the gap to another ladder, leading to a dead end with this hidden science weapon.

  • Exactly what is sounds like. Enemies shot with the Mind Control Ray will join your side and fight for you.
