Borderlands 3: Defeat One Punch Man To Earn An Awesome Legendary Weapon | Easter Egg Guide

September 14, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Take down a hidden One Punch Man Easter egg to earn a killer Legendary in Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 is brimming with Easter eggs — there are almost too many to count, but one of the best ones we’ve found so far is all about One Punch Man.

Not only is there a hidden ‘boss’ to fight, you’ll also get a powerful Legendary if you’re lucky. And unlike some of the other Easter eggs, like a Lord of the Rings side-quest on Pandora, this one is extremely easy to miss — you’ll need to locate the hidden alcove and input a little code to make your killer opponent appear.

The enemy is called ‘One Punch’, and like his namesake he can kill you in a single punch. He’s a Bandit with a massive robot arm, and you’ll only be able to find him in the underground of Lectra City.

Defeat One Punch Man To Earn An Awesome Legendary Weapon | Easter Egg Guide

To defeat ‘One Punch’, you’ll need to travel to the Planet Promethea. From there, travel to the Meridia Metroplex region, and finally to Lectra City. In the underground tunnels beneath the Market Quarter area, you can summon ‘One Punch’ at will.

To do that, find a chamber with multiple objects you can interact with. You’ll need to interact with the buttons / switches in this order.

  • Cabinet Button -> Wheel -> Lever -> Cabinet Switch -> Cabinet Switch

Input in this order, and the big brute called ‘One Punch’ will appear. This bandit doesn’t look much like Saitama, the hero of the anime One Punch Man, but he does hit as hard. One melee punch and you’re dead. Just shoot him before he can reach you!

You can reset this encounter as often as you like, and it’s worth it for one simple reason — the One Pump Chump Legendary. This Legendary Shotgun is an extremely powerful Jakobs weapon. Each shot is devastating, and it’s worth farming this enemy until you get it. The Legendary is so good, you’ll probably keep using it for a very long time.
