Table of Contents[Hide][Show]

  • Disintegration
  • Ghostrunner
Metroid Prime 4
  • Developer: Retro Studios
  • Publisher: Nintendo
  • Platforms: NS
  • Release: TBD
  • Co-op: TBA
  • Competitive Multiplayer: TBA

After being dormant for several years, Metroid Prime is getting a new installment. Nintendo revealed Metroid Prime 4 a few years ago during E3 2017 but all we received was a logo. While the game was being developed, news about the title wasn’t released to the public but that changed during a video released in January of 2019. Unfortunately, development wasn’t going in a direction that Nintendo had liked and as a result, the entire project was scrapped. Instead of being completely canned, Nintendo allowed Retro Studios to completely redo the game.

We don’t know the particulars about the original development of Metroid Prime 4, but the game is still being worked on and we’re hoping that it makes an official debut in 2020. For now, it’s purely a waiting game to see what gamers will be dealing with in this fourth installment to the series and if we’ll also see it launch before 2020 wraps.

Destroy All Humans!

  • Developer: Black Forest Games
  • Publisher: THQ Nordic
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO, Stadia
  • Release: 2020
  • Co-op: N/A
  • Competitive Multiplayer: N/A

If you don’t recall, Destroy All Humans! released back in 2005 and now this year we’re going to receive a remake. The video game will play out very much the same as the original installment in that players take the role of an alien sent to Earth to extract human DNA. As you go through the world, you’ll have an array of abilities and weaponry to use such as a flying saucer, jetpack, the zap-o-matic gun to even psychokinetic powers.

Much like the original installment as well, the game will have a list of goals where players are dropped into a sandbox location. You’ll be able to freely move around an explore the areas all while completing missions. Whether it will receive the same success as the 2005 release did remains to be seen. However, for fans that enjoy the game which was developed by the now defunct Pandemic Studios team will likely be ready to dive back into the franchise when it releases later this year.

Iron Man VR

  • Developer: Camouflaj
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platforms: PSVR
  • Release: May 15, 2020
  • Co-op: N/A
  • Competitive Multiplayer: N/A

Those looking to take on the helm of Iron Man will be able to do so later this year. Iron Man VR puts players into the role of Tony Stark as he embarks on a new mission. With a powerful suit allowing players to take to the skies and fight against enemies. Likewise, this is said to be a brand new storyline for players to dive into. As a result, don’t expect a rehash of the stories already told in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Jett: The Far Shore

  • Developer: Superbrothers + Pine Scented
  • Publisher: Superbrothers + Pine Scented
  • Platforms: PC, PS5
  • Release: 2020
  • Co-op: TBA
  • Competitive Multiplayer: TBA

There’s a lot we don’t know about Jett: The Far Shore just yet but the trailer showcased during the PlayStation 5 video game event in June 2020, did pique our interest. The game follows two character who are exploring different worlds in what is said to be a journey for the future of people. Perhaps this is a journey looking for a planet suitable for life or perhaps the exploration for each planet is something a bit more complex. At any rate, this science fiction exploration game has a release date for the holiday season so we should get more information on just what Jett: The Far Shore will be about in the coming months.

Disintegration

  • Developer: V1 Interactive
  • Publisher: Private Division
  • Platforms: PS4, XBO, PC
  • Release: 2020
  • Co-op: TBA
  • Competitive Multiplayer: Yes

Disintegration is an upcoming science-fiction FPS from Marcus Lehto, a former creative director at Bungie who helped create the Halo franchise. Now he is working on a new FPS where humanity has only survived through the means of transporting their brains and placing them into robotic armatures. Players will be taking on the role of Romer Shoal who is fighting back from a force attempting to eliminate all remnants of human society. As a result, you can expect a full single-player campaign that will supposedly take up to twelve hours to complete.

It’s not all about single-player content with Disintegration as there will be a full multiplayer component attached as well. In a way, the game is somewhat similar to the Titanfall series, where players will control large mech vehicle-based weapons during matches though there are also foot soldiers battling alongside you. We haven’t seen a ton of footage for this game released into the public quite yet, though the developers are still planning to have Disintegration release at some point in 2020.

Ghostrunner

  • Developer: One More Level
  • Publisher: All in! Games
  • Platforms: PS4, NS, XBO, PC
  • Release: 2020
  • Co-op: N/A
  • Competitive Multiplayer: N/A

One More Level is working on a new cyberpunk title called Ghostrunner. This is a first-person action game where the world has been broken up into safe havens though as time progressed, those left in humanity have flooded to the tower-city, the final remaining shelter. Unfortunately, things inside the shelter are just as rough with constantly growing threat of violence.

Players step into the role of a cyber-warrior a person who is not only capable of physical combat but also skilled at dealing with cyberspace. Overall, the goal is to reach the top of this city tower in hopes of uncovering the truth behind the tower and potentially save humanity from any further tyranny. This is another title that doesn’t have a full release date attached to the project yet. Instead, we’re looking for a planned release sometime in 2020.
