Sarcophagi are the final resting places of legendary warriors in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and you can live up to your name by finding them all — then taking the valuable stuff inside.
Each sarcophagus contains a unique piece of armor that Lara can equip, and they’re all pretty worthwhile. Not only can you change your look, you can enjoy a bevy of bonus abilities, depending on what you’ve got equipped.
In a change, you can actually equip multiple different types of armor at once. Each piece offers different benefits, so you’re free to mix-and-match until you’ve got the perfect outfit for hunting enemies (or treasures) in the wilds of Peru. All Crypts Locations | Armor Pieces Guide
Crypts are small dungeons you can unlock and explore as you progress in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. You’ll find components for different outfits in each crypt — and there are several crypts in each hub area. Solving the puzzles / platforming challenges inside a crypt is easy. The tricky part is just finding them. Here’s where to get them all.
Peruvian Jungle
- Crypt #1: The first crypt is located near the northern Base Camp. Travel northeast to the cave entrance just above the river’s end. Reward: Eveningstar’s Boots
- Crypt #2: Found in the far west corner. Start from the southwestern Base Camp, then dive into the water. Stick to the left (west) edge of the map. Climb the ledge with the pair of waterfalls and head upriver to locate the blocked entrance. Reward: Eveningstar’s Cape
Hidden City
- Crypt #3: Begin the “Speak of the Dead” side-quest to access four crypts. The first is located north of the abandoned village, in the north. Use a rope-arrow to reach the crypt itself. Reward: Manko’s Boots
- Crypt #4: Start from the Wild Jungle Base Camp, continuing the “Speak of the Dead” side-quest. Wade through the water and head to the far southern edge of this area. Reward: Greaves of Six-Sky
- Crypt #5: The next crypt is located just south of the Temple of Kukulkan Base Camp. There’s a very hard to find ledge you’ll need to use. Drop down to the right of the rope bridge, handing from the ledge near the campfire, and shimmy left. Reward: Yaway’s Wooden Greaves
- Crypt #6: The last crypt for the side-quest is located on the far-eastern edge of the Hidden City. Cross the rope-bridges and you’ll find it in an area to the left of the temple. Reward: Ch’amaka’s War Vest
- Crypt #7: The final crypt is located during the “Hearts and Minds” side-quest. In the second part of the quest, you’ll need to collect the Savior’s Amulet. The crypt can be accessed during this part of the quest. Reward: Savior’s Amulet
Kuwaq Yaku
- Crypt #8: Start from the Hunting Grounds Base Camp. The secret crypt entrance is located southeast, in a shallow body of water nearby that seems to be a dead end. Reward: Condor Cowl of Urqu
- Crypt #9: This one is west of the southern camp. Just head west from the small boat camp, and stop at the first sandy beach. There’s a cave here. Reward: Nine-Strikes Boots
Mission of San Juan
- Crypt #10: The last crypt and sarcophagus are located in the Mission of San Juan. Take the side-quest “Explore the Local Mysteries” to find this crypt. Reward: Kantu’s Gilded Vest
