The Best PlayStation 4 Games That Are Now Dirt Cheap

January 27, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Grab these great video game titles for your PlayStation 4 library.

#15 The Last of Us: Remastered
  • PSN $19.99

Naughty Dog really knows how to make a great video game and has been turning them out for a number of years now. However, one of the more recent IP release, The Last of Us, was resounded for its gameplay and narrative journey.

At its core, The Last of Us was a game that follows the world after a zombie-like plague. Most of humanity was struggling to survive with various fungus type hosts have attached themselves to a human body, essentially reanimating them. While technically they are not zombies, it’s tough to classify them to anything else.

Overall the game follows Joel who has his world completely shattered early into the game. However, after a small time jump, it seems that Joel is making by in the world that is full of nothing by chaos, corruption, and uncertainty. That soon gets shaken up when Joel winds up having to protect some little girl named Ellie as they make their way across the country on foot.

As you can imagine this is a slow journey that takes Joel and Ellie a long time to complete. It’s within this time that Joel and Ellie begin to bound though the deeper you go into the narrative the more we see just how bleak the world has become.

This is a game you’ll be gripping your controller and sitting on the edge of your seat all the way through. After the amount of time you spend playing this game, it’ll be hard not to get attached to the various characters.

#14 Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • PSN $19.99

The Uncharted franchise has been immensely popular with Sony gamers with the fourth main installment, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was set to be the conclusion to the Uncharted series starring Nathan Drake.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes place several years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, where Nathan Drake has been retired from fortune hunting. That is until he is reunited with his older brother Sam and partner Sully where the trio must search for clues to the location of Captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure in order to save Sam’s life.

#13 Horizon Zero Dawn
  • PSN $19.99

Horizon Zero Dawn marks as the first IP developed by Guerrilla Games since their release of Killzone in 2004. This is an action role-playing video game title that is set a thousand years into the future.

Mankind has mysteriously fallen with cities only a shell of a once thriving society. Now only small tribal groups remain with giant mechanical beasts roam the world openly. The plot will revolve around a female hunter named Aloy who sets out on a journey to explore the open world, meet with other tribes, and potentially learn of why she was banished from the tribe as a baby.

#12 Rocket League
  • PSN $19.99

It doesn’t take very much to describe Rocket League. The game quickly exploded in popularity when it launched back in 2015 and its popularity still holds strong to this day.

Essentially, Rocket League is a soccer title though played with fast vehicles that can launch into the air to either block or knock the ball into a goal post. The game is easy to understand but difficult to master, making it tough to take a break from the game.

#11 Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • PSN $19.99

Taking place after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, players can enjoy the last installment of the beloved franchise in which was directed under Hideo Kojima. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain follows Snake as he goes through a new mission that takes him to a Soviet-occupied Afghanistan territory.

During the journey, Snake seeks his revenge on those who destroyed his forces during the ending of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, however, to do so, Snake will be exploring an open world environment. For fans of the franchise, this latest installment is seen to be a bit different in terms of the gameplay with this time around, developers allow the players a little more freedom when it comes to how they can complete an objective.
