Table of Contents[Hide][Show]
  • #35 Hitman
  • #34 Detroit: Become Human
  • #33 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  • #32 Spider-Man
  • #31 Rise of the Tomb Raider

#35 Hitman

Hitman, from developers IO Interactive, is the sixth entry in the Hitman series, and outside of the prologue, the video game takes place seven years after the events of Hitman: Absolution. Furthermore, this is an episodic video game title that holds a total of six episodes, with the first season containing all of the episodes available today.

Much like previous installments, players will be taking on the role of Agent 47, a genetically enhanced assassin, as he travels to international locations to eliminate specific targets. Each episode is more of an open-world sandbox environment where players will have to explore, infiltrate, eliminate a target, and leave without being noticed or killed.

#34 Detroit: Become Human

Set in Detroit, Michigan, and developed by Quantic Dream, gamers who enjoy choice-driven narratives will want to pick up Detroit: Become Human. This is a futuristic neo-noir thriller that’s based off an old 2012 tech demo from Quantic Dream that became viral online.

Players will take control of three different characters, all of which are androids. You will have Kara, a female android that has escaped the factory from where she was made. There’s also Connor, who is a male android that is tasked with hunting down deviant androids. Lastly, there is Markus, another male android who has begun an android revolution against the human race.

This video game is all about choices and it certainly seems that there will be a ton of them to choose through within the game. In fact, there are so many choices that each will alter the narrative storyline and can have grave consequences with your characters.

#33 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed latest installment is known as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The video game is set in 431 BCE where players will have the choice of being a mercenary that fights for Athens and the Delian League or the Peloponnesian League led by Sparta. Either way, players will be a descendant of Spartan King Leonidas I during the Peloponnesian War.

Much like the previous Assassin’s Creed installments, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will feature a modern day protagonist as well. Ubisoft will be reintroducing players to Layla Hassan who was present during Assassin’s Creed Origins.

The game world is quite massive to explore as well and if you’re on to enjoy dabbling outside of the campaign and simply taking in the sights, developers over at Ubisoft has included a mode to freely roam the world without hostilities. We don’t think too many will take up with this feature until the game ends as the narrative adventure and choice-based options that come up will likely keep you playing and replaying to see all of the different endings.

#32 Spider-Man

Spider-Man is an video game title under developers Insomniac Games who are previously known for their Ratchet & Clank and Resistance video game franchises. Their latest upcoming title will breathe some new life into the Spider-Man story as this video game title will not be linked to any past comic books or cinematic movies.

Furthermore, we’re not going through some origin story of Spider-Man. Instead, the video game will be focused around Peter Parker, eight years after he has established the role of being the famed hero. From what we know so far, this is an open-world title where the narrative will follow Peter Parker graduating college while keeping up as protector of New York City.

Just like with past Spider-Man video games, Insomniac Games developed the title to be single player only. Players will web swing across the city stopping common thugs to iconic villains from Marvel comic book series. Likewise, developers are adding DLC to give players more content to go through, all of which will be centered around specific characters from the Spider-Man universe.

#31 Rise of the Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider has been around for years since its release on the original PlayStation. However, developers Crystal Dynamics gave the video game title a proper reboot showing Lara Croft as a vulnerable young woman trapped alone on a hostile island.

It’s through this adventure title that Lara Croft becomes the famed tough Tomb Raider who must stop supernatural entities and opposing forces while using the element of surprise to her advantage.

Rise of the Tomb Raider tells the story of Lara Croft who has become labeled insane with the organization Trinity covering up the events that took place in Yamatai. Now to prove she’s not insane, Lara Croft must make her way into the ancient city of Kitezh.

What the city contains may prove to be something of use in order to prove to those who’ve doubted her. Unlike Tomb Raider, this latest installment has Lara Croft with a few well-tuned skills in which she can put to use.
