Papu Papu
Being the first boss to face against for Crash Bandicoot, players won’t be in for a difficult time at all. The Papu Papu boss really has one attack and that’s to spend his staff around the room, although he can slam the staff down at you if you’re simply standing in just one area. This happens periodically so just keep an eye out for when he begins the attack and be prepared to make a leap away from the staff.
To defeat Papu Papu players only have to jump on his head. Give him a few bops on the head and he will be defeated in no time.
Ripper Roo
Ripper Roo is a kangaroo that has a knack for TNT crates. Overall, your goal to take down Ripper Roo is just to study his movements. Keep track of his movements and time them out as you’ll have to trigger a TNT crate which will explode when Ripper Roo is near.
This may take some time but keep track of the pattern and have a total of three TNT crates go off next to Ripper Roo. After being hit three times by the TNT explosions, Ripper Roo will be defeated.
Koala Kong
When you come to face against Koala Kong, Crash Bandicoot will have to dodge and use his spin attack against a giant Koala. There are a few things to keep note of with this battle such as mine carts which can act as shields for Koala Kong, the TNT crates near Crash and lastly, the giant boulders that will be chucked at Crash Bandicoot’s way.
Play this battle safe and time out the attacks. Either dodge the boulders or spin attack them to cause them to turn into rubble. Wait until Koala Kong tosses over a larger boulder and spin attack it which will bounce off Crash and go flying back at Koala Kong. Try your best to keep track of where Koala Kong is and send at least four rocks flying back his way in order to defeat the boss.
Pinstripe Potoroo
Pinstripe Potoroo is a shady business man who will use a machine gun against Crash Bandicoot. Don’t get greedy and try to rush Pinstripe Potoroo. Instead, coward behind a chair for safety until Potoroo finishes his round of firing. This is when you leap out from cover and spin attack the thug.
Do this for a total of three times which will initiate the second part of the boss fight. Essentially, the same tactics will be used in this section of the battle as well. The only difference here is that Pinstripe Potoroo will continuously fire.
The firing won’t last forever as from time-to-time the machine gun will backfire. When this happens you’ll need to jump out from behind a chair and spin attack him. Do this another three times and you’ll officially defeat the Pinstripe Potoroo boss.
Dr. Nitrus Brio
You’re just one boss away from the final boss when you reach Dr. Nitrus Brio. This fight can be tricky and may keep you on your toes. Dr. Nitrus Brio will have chemical vials to use as an attack during the first section of the fight.
The green vials will turn into monsters after being broken on the floor, avoid being hit by them when the vials are thrown and then jump on the monster to hurt Nitrus. As for the second vial, which is purple in color, you’ll simply just need to avoid these.
Once Nitrus takes six hits, he will consume a concoction and turn into a monster himself. When Nitrus enters this state, he will have a new form of attack. This attack will cause Nitrus to slam his arms down which as a result will allow blocks to fall from the sky. Avoid being hit by a block, though once the blocks cease to fall, hop on the last remaining block and then jump on top of Nitrus’ head. Do this three times and you’ll have defeated the boss.
Dr. Neo Cortex
It’s finally come to this, Crash Bandicoot and the antagonist of the game, Dr. Neo Cortex. Unlike some of the previous bosses, Dr. Neo Cortex has but just one attack, though after progressing through the boss fight, Dr. Neo Cortex will speed up his attack.
Within the boss battle, Dr. Neo Cortex will shoot out two orbs, one purple, and one green. The purple orbs are deadly and must be avoided completely while the green orbs can be launched back to Cortex after a spin attack.
As mentioned, Dr. Neo Cortex will launch out the orbs faster as the battle progresses so be quick to avoid the purple orbs and launch the green orbs back. After being hit five times, Dr. Neo Cortex will be defeated.
