Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: How To Play As Coco Bandicoot | Character Guide

July 5, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

Find out how to play as Coco Bandicoot.

Coco Bandicoot is one of the iconic characters outside of Crash Bandicoot within the popular video game franchise. She is the younger sister of Crash Bandicoot and was available for gamers to play for the first time in the third video game installment, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

The developers behind Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy did alter this however and made the Coco Bandicoot characters available to play as in the first two video game installments, Crash Bandicoot and Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, as well

Crash Bandicoot

To unlock the ability to play as Crash Bandicoot’s younger sister, Coco Bandicoot, there’s not much to it for either of the two first video game installments. For the first installment, players must defeat the first boss, which is Papu Papu.

The boss is easy to defeat as you only have to jump on top of his head. The best way to do that is simply stand behind him and wait for his staff move to make your jump. After he receives a few hits, you’ll defeat Papu Papu and unlock Coco Bandicoot as a playable character.

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

For Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, the sequel, you’ll also find yourself having to defeat the first boss which is Ripper Roo. Much like Papu Papu from the first Crash Bandicoot video game Ripper Roo is easy to defeat.

The boss will drop both TNT and Nitro crates while hopping around the area. You must wait until a Nitro crate goes off and stuns Ripper Roo. When stunned, you can unleash spin-attacks which will eventually defeat the boss and unlock Coco Bandicoot as a playable character.
