Persona 5: Here’s The Fastest Way to Farm XP | Lvl 99 Guide

April 25, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Earn an insane amount of XP super-fast in Persona 5 with this farming trick.

Bring down the seemingly impossible Reaper with this awesomely useful Persona 5 XP farming method. Using this trick, you can kill a Reaper and “reap” the rewards. You and your back-up are guaranteed to level up (sometimes multiple times) if you can bring this sucker down.

And there is a way. You don’t even need to be high level. As long as you can survive a single attack, you’re good to go. Unfortunately, this method can only be used late in the game during the November / December months, so this won’t help you gain fast levels until later in the story.

The Best Way to Farm XP

To earn XP fast in Persona 5, you’ll need to make lots of progress in the game. Eventually, you’ll unlock the Star Confidant Hifumi Togo — she’ll teach you tons of powerful combat abilities, but for this farming method, you’ll need to unlock the Rank 9 skill Touryou. This makes all turn delays zero, making it possible to escape battles instantly.

  • [NOTE] Increase the Moon Confidant Yuuki Mishima rank to earn more XP per battle.

The farming method doesn’t become available until Flu Season (November 13-15, December 8-9). Flu Season is only available on very specific days, so don’t miss it.

Next, travel down to Aiyatsbus: Area 1 in Mementos. Wait for the Reaper to spawn — just sit still for a few minutes, the Reaper always spawns if you take too long to complete a floor.

Instead of running, let’s fight the Reaper. Don’t let it ambush you, hit it with your van to initiate the battle.

  • [NOTE] To make this farm easier, lower the difficulty to Easy in the options menu. It won’t change the game in any way — except make it easier! You can swap back to your preferred difficulty at any time.

Now — the goal is to get the Reaper to appear with the Despair status effect. This effect occurs during Flu Season in Mementos, but it is totally random. If the Reaper doesn’t appear with Despair inflicted, retreat and re-fight him until he is afflicted.

When he’s afflicted, Guard until he dies instantly. You’ll get an insane amount of XP and some cash too. This is a fairly easy method, and it’s the fastest way to earn XP without having to really farm anything. You only need to kill one enemy, it just so happens that one enemy is impossibly difficult — usually!
