WB Games Officially Announce Middle-Earth: Shadow of War; Watch Reveal Trailer Here

February 27, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Now we wait until August.

Over the weekend a Target listing of a sequel to the hit game Shadow of Mordor leaked. Since then there has been a lot of speculating and reporting about the game’s existence. Well, it looks like WB Games couldn’t wait any longer as they have officially announced Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.

The newly announced title will be a direct sequel to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. It will once again star Talion and his voice actor Troy Baker. We get to see a little glimpse into the game thanks to the new announcement trailer.

Watch it for yourself down below:

Players will wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. With an original story featuring our two heroes from the first game, Middle-earth: Shadow of War will have you going deep behind enemy lines to forge an army in the hopes of turning all of Mordor against the Dark Lord himself.

In addition, Xbox has announced that the title will be available for the upcoming Project Scorpio console, once it releases later this holiday season. They have also announced that Shadow of War will become an Xbox Play Anywhere title; which enables gamers to save their Middle-earth: Shadow of War progress, DLC (including add-ons, Expansion Pass and in-game unlocks), Gamerscore and Achievements to their Xbox Live cloud-synced player profiles, so they can pick up where they left on another Xbox One or Windows 10.

WB Games and Monilith will be showing more of the game on March 8. the gameplay reveal date was speculated by fans which title was going to get announced — the new Batman Arkham title or a sequel to Shadow of Mordor, it turns out to be the latter.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 22, 2017.
