2K Games has released a new six-minute gameplay walkthrough of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. We get to see a cinematic of the world getting blown up by invading aliens.
The trailer below is the same one shown behind closed doors at E3 and PAX, and has Firaxis Lead Designer Jake Solomon walk us through what's happening on-screen.
For those too young to remember, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a remake of the 1994 strategy game XCOM: UFO Defense and is a throwback to the original game's roots.
Based on the gameplay we've seen to date, XCOM seems to offer a far more action-packed approach to traditional RTS' (real-time strategy games). Additionally, the trailer also shows the different enemy types players can expect to tangle with in the game and they're no slouches either.
Lucky for us the game is set on a modern-day Earth, so our crew gets to use futuristic weaponry and gadgets such as jetpacks, cloaking devices and more to take down the alien scum.
Not to be confused with 2K Marin's XCOM shooter, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is set for release on October 9 for the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3.
