Microsoft seems to be doing a bit of damage control after the announcement of Scalebound’s cancellation. During the start of this week, Microsoft had officially unveiled that Scalebound, a video game being developed by Platinum Games and a highly anticipated Microsoft exclusive, was being killed off. This left plenty of gamers being upset and questioning the progress on other Microsoft exclusive titles, one of which is the Phantom Dust remaster.
Since the announcement of Scalebound being cancelled, it became a quick concern as to how the other exclusive titles under Microsoft are doing. For instance, Crackdown 3 was one title that has been out of the limelight for some time now, though one industry insider was able to reveal that the title was in no real trouble of being killed off.
Still, Xbox gamers are quickly asking about other exclusive titles in the works. One Twitter user, Mike Mayoral, brought up a solid point to Microsoft. Mike stated that the confidence in the Xbox brand also means getting the video game exclusives that were previously shown off and promised. Some of the past titles included Fable, Project Spark, and now most recently, Scalebound. When asked about Project Dust, a card-based action JRPG remaster from the original Xbox, Microsoft’s general manager, Shannon Loftis chimed in.
@MikeMayoral @XboxP3 @Bgamer90 Sorry, butting in here. Phantom Dust is going well.

According to Microsoft’s general manager, Phantom Dust is going well and when questioned why the remaster is taking so long, Shannon revealed that bringing an original Xbox game onto Xbox One is a great amount of work.
@TeamVernia @MikeMayoral @XboxP3 @Bgamer90 It’s decent work to bring an original Xbox game forward, and we want to make sure it’s great.

The sudden cancellation of Scalebound still stings for some gamers, but already, Xbox head, Phil Spencer, is looking forward to E3 this year where gamers will be treated to a few surprises.
