The next upcoming Nintendo console has been highlighted for plenty of gamers online over the past few months. With news, rumors, leaks, and supposed reports, Nintendo officially revealed their next console last week to the world through a trailer. Known as the Nintendo Switch, several of the rumors which have previously spread online were, in fact, true.
For instance, we know that the video game console is a hybrid allowing gamers to take the console on the go for portable gaming. Additionally, the console will use cartridge-based video games instead of disc media. Regardless of the first reveal for Nintendo’s upcoming console, gamers are still itching to learn more about the device.
One user on Reddit that goes by the handle EveMK89 has broken down the trailer to showcase some of the features that were not necessarily highlighted within the reveal trailer itself. Since this is just using the trailer to take notice of a few buttons or potential features, we have to label most of these as rumors until the official word from Nintendo is released.
Starting off the hidden away features is detach buttons to unlock the removable control system from the tablet device. Likewise, the directly in front of those detach buttons appears to be two buttons, one similar looking to a standard D-Pad. This has led to some complaints online that Nintendo’s upcoming controller will have a ridiculously small D-Pad for use, but in all actuality, this is likely the start button while the other side contains a select button input.
There appears to be a glimpse of a volume button, shoulder buttons, slots for both a stylus and SD Card, while the bottom of the Switch may include some type of pointer functionality. Other features that are more apparent within the video trailer include a LED light to confirm the Switch is in the dock, a headphone jack, and of course, the ability to charge the Switch for portable gaming.
Nevertheless, more features of the Nintendo Switch will likely be unveiled as we get closer to the console’s launch date which is slated for a March 2017 release.
