United Front Games is issuing refunds to anyone who spent money on their new game Smash+Grab, which just went into Early Access before the studio promptly closed its doors.
The game was removed from Steam a few days ago amidst rumors that the studio had shut down.
United Front Games has yet to issue any statements regarding their demise but individual staff have taken to social media to broadcast the news.
According to an official post by one of the studio’s employees, Steam will be issuing refunds for Smash+Grab regardless of how much time you spent playing it, so even if you dumped dozens of hours into the game after it entered Early Access, you won’t have any problem getting your money back.
The studio behind Smash+Grab developed Sleeping Dogs, a underrated but fantastic open-world game set in Hong Kong. They would later go on to develop Triad Wars, a spinoff of sorts that focused on multiplayer and relied heavily on social media. It did not exit beta and was cancelled before they went on to make Smash+Grab. It’s our hope that the Sleeping Dogs license finds a new home.
