Not to be outdone by its "bigger" brothers DmC and Resident Evil 6, Capcom has also revealed Lost Planet 3's E3 trailer.
While the game does look good, I can't help but feel that it really, really reminds me of another franchise that also has aliens (Necromorphs!) in it. Of course, the game does have controllable mechs, so that's a big difference; but based on the trailer below, it wouldn't surprise me if a certain protagonist (Isaac Clarke) stomps his way through.
It seems to be a more "intimate" affair compared to past Lost Planet games but that's not really a bad thing, no?
Hopefully, Spark Unlimited will make Lost Planet 3 a better game compared to its predecessor. And I'm also hoping EA doesn't send them an email asking why they're cribbing of Dead Space as much as they can.
Don't tell me I'm the only one who sees the similarities. From the atmosphere, the way the protagonist interacts with the aliens…heck, even the trailer's end music seems like it came from Dead Space 2! Though if they are going to be "inspired" from a game, Dead Space wouldn't be that bad of a choice, no?
Lost Planet 3 is being developed by Spark Unlimited and is scheduled to come out next year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
