In the untamed wilds of the Steam website, some video games go on a mysterious adventure known as Early Access. They release an idea for a game, and let the public help give feedback and make changes. The German development studio known as Maschinen-Mensch did just that for their title, The Curious Expedition. Luckily, this game survived the journey and is getting a full release in September.
What’s The Curious Expedition all about? You and your team of explorers go on journeys across mysterious lands (on a hexagonal map) in order to harness the scientific value of your findings, and the financial value of the treasures you uncover. It’s all about properly managing your trip from start to finish. From planning your equipment from the get-go, to managing the overall resource needs with your greed for loot. You’ll encounter villages that belong to the local tribes in the area, trading and talking to them might lead to important information. Watch out for any traps and curses in the temple ruins, or else all your planning goes haywire fast. Deep in the wilderness, who knows what kind of beasts you’ll encounter. Maybe some wolves? How about Dinosaurs?
The Curious Expedition is out on September 2nd for PC (Mac/Linux). To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
