Capcom recently revealed their next big installment to the Resident Evil franchise. During Sony’s press conference at this year’s E3 event, Resident Evil 7 was unveiled and to some surprise, the development team is taking a first-person point-of-view for the game. Since it’s E3 reveal, Capcom released a demo for the video game in which fans have been going through to unlock and discover all of its secrets. However, there’s at least one secret that remains yet to be discovered, the dummy finger.
After its release for PlayStation 4 PS Plus subscribers, Capcom has revealed that the Resident Evil 7 demo is a completely standalone experience and would not have content that would be featured within the main video game release. For the most part, this demo was released in order to give players a slight little glimpse as to how the Resident Evil 7 video game would play out.
With that said, there are still plenty of secrets to uncover within the demo itself. One of which has been highly talked about and yet to be fully solved and that’s the dummy finger. Fans have been trying their very hardest in order to solve this mysterious item, but so far there has been no such luck.
According to Eurogamer, Capcom has released an email in which we’re learning some new details surrounding their demo. For instance, the demo was downloaded over two million times, but additionally, the development studio poked fun of the dummy finger item.

Within the email, a photo was featured that talks about a certain finger with a pathway being closed. This could suggest that the dummy finger doesn’t have a use quite yet with possibly a patch being released for the demo, later on that opens up a new section of gameplay but of course, that is purely speculation.
