Konami has been leaving the triple-A video game development projects to the wayside lately and it may be a disappointment for gamers with the company’s latest Metal Gear Solid game. Turns out the next installment of the franchise will be coming in the form of a pachinko machine, just like the latest Silent Hill installment.
The upcoming pachinko machine will be implementing the previously PlayStation 2 release, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Turns out that Konami developed Metal Gear Sold 3: Snake Eater with the Fox Engine which was used to develop Metal Gear Sold 5: The Phantom Pain for this pachinko machine rather than a remaster for console release.
This was not the first time Konami has taken on their most beloved IPs and turned it into a Japanese pachinko machine. Last year the development team released a Silent Hill pachinko machine so it has us wondering just what else Konami will do with fan favorite IPs.
Furthermore, it’s disheartening that this may be the only chance we’ll have to witness Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with an overhaul in graphics. Take a look at the reveal YouTube video up above to see what could have been an incredible remaster of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for the latest generation of consoles.
