Nintendo apparently received higher demand for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 than they expected.

Nintendo of Latin America’s general manager and VP Bill van Zyll said this about the game’s pre-orders in an interview with YouTuber Coelho no Japão:
The United States did extremely well as well. Uh it’s a global phenomenon where they’re running out of product.
…We are working on replenishments of the special hardware of the software, but it’ll you know take a little bit of time.
…It caught us by surprise. We expected a positive response, but the magnitude, I mean, it’s amazing.
Van Zyll also told fans to be patient as they are planning to replenish their stocks. No word if this means they’ll be making more of the first run version with a textured foil cover, but we have to imagine Nintendo understands its collectible appeal.
Van Zyll didn’t share any numbers, but all of a sudden it’s a lot more believable that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 could outsell GTA 6.
