A cancelled Assassin’s Creed game has just leaked.

As revealed by MP1st, Ubisoft was working on Assassin’s Creed Destiny, a game set in 206 BC, during the Qin dynasty. That sets it over a millennia before Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, which was set in the same period as when Ezio Auditore lived.
Interestingly, Assassin’s Creed Destiny was a co-production between Ubisoft and their big investor TenCent. In particular, Ubisoft was working with TenCent’s own China based developers, TiMi Studio Group.
MP1st got their hands on a February 2025 prototype, which had a female Assassin find an artifact in a sacred palace while it was being attacked by Qin rival Xiang Yu.
Unfortunately for this project, TiMi itself went through restructuring before they started work on this game, and it was cancelled shortly after making this prototype.
While we have reported extensively on Ubisoft’s financial troubles, we didn’t see at the time that TenCent was facing financial issues too. This helps explain why TenCent didn’t rush to buy Ubisoft outright, and we saw them make the strongly controlled deal that they made.
