Asha Sharma has announced a new division at XBOX, simply named XBOX XP.

XP is a clever play on the term for experience points, but it’s also an abbreviation for its different divisions:
- XBOX PICTURES handles their movies and shows
- XBOX PRODUCTS for licensing and merchandise
- XBOX PARTNERSHIPS for their brand partnerships
- XBOX PLACES for live events, including live broadcasts and theme parks
Subsequently, she revealed two new appointments.

Kayleen Walters, who led Mojang through Minecraft’s successful years under XBOX, has been promoted to President of XBOX XP. Asha pointed out that Kayleen was at LucasFilm for 13 years before joining Mojang, and she was executive producer of A Minecraft Movie.
Subsequently, Asha has hired Maria Angelidou-Smith, previously from Meta and Reddit, as the new CEO of Mojang and Minecraft.

Remarkably, XBOX managed to keep all of this under wraps while reporters tried to leak the company’s townhall meeting yesterday. But most importantly, this adds a wrinkle to XBOX’s deal with Kojima Productions for PHYSINT and OD-KNOCK.
