We have interesting new details on Hideo Kojima’s deal with XBOX.

Over the weekend, The Game Business reported that PHYSINT’s game budget ranges between $ 300 – 600 million, though he most commonly heard it was at $ 400 million. This led to wide speculation, with both Jez Corden and Jason Schreier claiming the amount was lower.
Even The Game Business’ Christopher Dring himself recanted this number. But Jez shared a lot more details, writing for Windows Central.
Jez said this:
Xbox and Kojima are building towards their Xbox projects on a “fraction” of this reported figure.
I’m told Xbox negotiated a deal with Kojima Productions that includes both movie and TV licenses for PHYSINT, and it also included enhanced terms for OD — Kojima’s anticipated atmospheric horror game for Xbox.
While PHYSINT probably isn’t budgeted at $ 400 million on its own, XBOX is probably funding Kojima Productions for well above that amount with OD-KNOCK taken into account.
And of course, that budget may go higher as development continues, depending on how the production goes. It’s probably too early to speculate on this figure knowing that.
