We may finally learn what Media Molecule’s next game will be.
As reported by MP1st, the game will be a social simulation, like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. It’s apparently not made as part of Sony’s live service push, though MP1st doesn’t rule out some added live service elements.
Interestingly, MP1st’s sources corroborates a rumor last May that it is an open world game. That guarantees that it will have a unique spin to it.
MP1st closes the window that it will still have something to do with Dreams, the platform game creator Media Molecule stopped working on in 2023. Sony has also apparently retired LittleBigPlanet as a franchise as well.
This Media Molecule game will be revealed in 2027, though now questions come up if this is still for the PS5, or it could possibly be a PS6 launch title.
Since it’s literally been years since we’ve heard from Media Molecule, it’s a genuine miracle to just get rumors about what they’re working on. Hopefully this is one rumor that turns out to be on the money.
