We have an interesting new piece of casting rumors about The Legend of Zelda Movie.

Daniel Richtman claims that New Zealand actress Samara Weaving is also in the movie. In fact, she’s playing a special role, as the goddess Hylia.
Without spoiling Hylia’s story too much, she is the divinity worshipped throughout Hyrule and her story is deeply connected to Link and Zelda. She probably won’t be in the movie for that much, but it’s potentially the biggest role in her career.
The niece of Hugo Weaving, Samara is best known for genre fare, playing roles like Grace in the Ready or Not movies, Jessica in Nine Perfect Strangers, and Penelope in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Given Samara’s lineage, and also her own talents in her own right, it’s surprising that she hasn’t had a breakout Hollywood moment yet. But Nintendo’s big foray with Sony Pictures might turn out to be her unexpected ticket.
