PS5 owners may have to be careful about a new thing that could mean doom for their console.

Another broken PS5 console with system boot failure and zero ways to fix it permanently. Where are technicians even supposed to source replacement memory chips from? A donor board that likely failed for the exact same reason, leaving you with no idea how long the “fix” will last. It makes repairs completely pointless.
These machines aren’t cheap. Back in the PS3 and PS4 eras, a drive failure was fast fix swap the drive, reinstall the OS, done. Major hardware locks were rare.
Today, anticonsumer design turns expensive tech into disposable junk the moment a single chip gives out.
His tweet came with a video demonstrating that the PS5 isn’t able to complete turning on and booting into its OS. He also clarified with another user that he checked if the issue is with the BGA (ball grid array) SSD and he verified that it isn’t.
It hasn’t been proven that this will happen to all PS5 consoles but every owner needs to know about this issue now.
