Rockstar Explains How They Fixed GTA Online’s Mission Creator In The Latest Patch

January 28, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

Maybe this is the start of some godlike fan created GTA missions.

Rockstar has shared the full patch notes for GTA Online’s latest update.

Yesterday, we reported on how Wanted levels were added to the Mission Creator. We now know most of the updates revolve around Rockstar’s user generated content system.

Many of the issues fixed seem relatively minor, but may have gotten in the way of making or completing missions. For example, one big issue made it so that players who formed teams of 2 to 4 to immediately fail when they played a mission.

They also mentioned fixing graphical issues in cutscenes, which could be a really big issue, or just a minor fix.

Lucas7 was confident enough to say yesterday that the Mission Creator was now usable. We take that to mean that this could enable players to finally make the missions that they really wanted to make.

The first few days of the Mission Creator led to Rockstar having to add banned words for the game. Hopefully, we’ll get cool and noteworthy games-within-games from it moving forward.
