GTA Online Gets New Mandatory Update, Mission Creator Fixed And Banned Words Updated

January 27, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

Rockstar is right to force everyone to update.

Rockstar has pushed a new mandatory update for GTA Online.

Harryodini588 observed that the update is 538 MB on PS4 and 718.6 MB on PS5. As a mandatory update, the game will notify you that you have to update to be allowed to play online.

Lucas7 explained that wanted levels have been updated in the Mission Creator. You can now add these options to wanted levels for selected scenes:

  • Per objective limit (including NONE)
  • Block Wanted Level Zone
  • Block Dispatch Zone

Lucas7 goes so far as to say that this update makes Mission Creator usable.

Finally, PLTytus shared this update on the game’s banned words list:

This might be update for profanity filter, some changes in dictionary was also made.

Charliekirk was “Profane”, and now is “Reserved” – whatever that means.

Two weeks ago, PLTytus revealed that the term charliekirk was labeled as profane.

There may be even more changes that fans haven’t found yet, but we’ll check and reveal what they find tomorrow.
