Tom Henderson has chimed in once again on the state of GTA 6’s development.

Last week, Tom explained in the 1st Insider Gaming Weekly podcast of 2026 that he was confident that the game was releasing in 2026. He also referred to the game as content ready.
Shortly thereafter, Jason Schreier said in another podcast that the game was ‘not content complete.’ However, he later clarified that he did not allude to a delay at all. Jason has since condemned the misinformation in a Bloomberg article.
Tom Henderson Explains Content Ready Versus Content Complete
In the latest episode of Insider Gaming Weekly, Tom explained that content ready is when the pipeline of what they want to do is ready. It doesn’t necessarily mean the game is content complete.
Neither Tom nor Jason will commit to GTA 6 releasing on time because of how unpredictable gamedev is. Ultimately, Tom said this:
Um, my personal opinion is that I think that it will release this year just because of the pipeline of console releases and… we’ve gone into it before about how Rockstar likes to do waves of releases and then remasters and all that kind of stuff.
