The Nintendo Switch 2’s 2026 Lineup Looks Impressive

January 6, 2026 by Todd Black

And we still don’t know everything…

2026 will be an interesting year for the gaming industry, not least of which is because of all the surprises and shocks that 2025 had on both the hardware and software levels. One of the biggest things that many will look toward as the new year rolls out is the success of the Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, the system has only been out for seven months, as it arrived in early June last year. However, since that point in time, it has run the gauntlet and has not released a nice slate of exclusive and “Switch 2 Edition” titles for gamers to enjoy, but its sales have been unprecedented.

It’s also important to remember that a certain group of the internet tried to claim the system would flop, and its games “wouldn’t sell,” and that hasn’t been true in the slightest. Looking ahead, though, Nintendo can’t rest on its laurels, as it needs to continue to win over gamers with not only exclusive games, but key third-party ports to ensure that everyone knows exactly how stacked the console’s lineup is. To that end, insider Stealth made a list of many of the games that are likely to come out in the first half of the year for the system, and it’s very impressive indeed:

Plenty of big games are still coming before the end of Switch 2's first year:

– Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch 2 Edition
– Mario Tennis Fever
– Pokémon Pokopia
– Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (maybe)
– Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2… pic.twitter.com/DfvJuuhW7b

As noted, these are aiming to come out, or have been confirmed to be coming out, before June 5th, 2026, and that means there will be plenty to play. The other side of the coin, though, is that there are plenty of titles that are likely to come out this year that we DON’T know about. As the new year arrives, every Nintendo fan starts thinking about the first Nintendo Direct of the year, and based on past years, one is likely to drop in February or March at the latest.

With anticipation high, The Big N will likely do all it can to showcase the big games coming that have already been confirmed, but have only had one trailer, while also teasing what’s to come in the rest of 2026. They already struck gold last year with titles featuring Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Kirby, and Pokémon, and many of them will have a “repeat performance” in 2026 by all indications. Whether they reach the accolades of the other titles is unknown, but that’s part of the fun.

Once the announcements start rolling out, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be even more desirable.
