Rockstar Games has some interesting new job openings for their New York office.

GTA 6 Countdown on Twitter found openings for their Video Production Department on Rockstar’s Careers Page. They give this description for this department:
The Video Production Department creates all trailers and video assets released online, on social media, on broadcast TV and in cinema.
We’ll review these openings below.
The Narrative Video Editor
Rockstar gave this description for this job listing:
Rockstar is on the lookout for a highly capable and experienced Narrative Editor to join our Video Production Department.
The ideal candidate has post-production experience across multiple formats and genres.
They will be a creative thinker, able to craft a compelling narrative and work with a team to execute a vision at the highest level.
The description may seem too broad, but Rockstar may be looking for flexibility. Most video editors will be familiar with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve.
Any good editor worth their weight should be able to adjust to different editing programs, if they need some help getting oriented to new programs.
What seems more important for Rockstar here is someone who can come up with campaign and commercial ideas themselves. This could be a fun job if you’re a Rockstar fan trying to get into the industry.
The Motion Graphics Artist
Rockstar gave this description for this job listing:
Rockstar Games is looking for a highly capable and experienced Motion Graphics Artist to join our Video Production Department.
The ideal candidate has Motion Graphics experience across multiple formats and genres.
They will be creative thinkers, able to help craft a compelling narrative and work with a team to execute a vision at the highest level.
Motion Graphics is a deeper specialization in this industry. These creators are essentially animators, but they make very small animations from 2D and 3D graphics. Think gifs, but more sophisticated for commercial use.
These graphics will be the assets that will be used in promotional videos. While the developers are busy polishing and finishing up Grand Theft Auto 6, they need someone else to make these graphics for the promotions.
Why Have These Job Openings Now?
Rockstar is only starting to hire for these positions for a reason. They are starting a new round of promotions for Grand Theft Auto 6 soon.
We can probably expect a new round of impressive, funny, and scandalous Grand Theft Auto 6 commercials all over the internet, and maybe even beyond it, in the near future.
