Silent Hill fans were skeptical about Konami bringing the franchise back. When it was unveiled that the IP would be returning in a big way, one of the games to hopefully set the standard was a Silent Hill 2 remake. Now that the game is available, players trying to enjoy this incredible psychological horror experience are frustrated, thanks to the PS5 Pro.
Fortunately, when Silent Hill 2 launched, fans who were skeptical that Bloober Team would botch the remake were in for a pleasant surprise. This turned out to be quite an incredible release, faithfully recreating the original gameplay experiences with some slight tweaks to keep things fresh. However, while fans have rejoiced at the incredible accomplishments that the studio was able to pull off for this game, those on PlayStation 5 Pro are left waiting for a patch.
Players are reportedly dealing with several issues with the game running on Sony’s mid-gen refresh. Getting that extra bit of power for the PlayStation 5 Pro likely left players expecting a far better experience with this game, but instead, fans have voiced their frustrations online, leaving the Bloober Team to acknowledge the problem.
In a recent comment on X, the Bloober Team responded to a player who asked about the problems that arose. According to the response from the official Bloober Team X account, they know about the problems and are working on a fix. Unfortunately, we don’t know just how long some players might have to endure to enjoy a more optimized gameplay experience.
At any rate, Silent Hill 2 has been doing well on the standard PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. Its successful launch led to the game landing in several categories for this year’s The Game Awards.
