Borderlands is a popular video game series that has had many different installments that have now earned the franchise its very own live action movie. This might also be because video game movies have been getting more and more popular with ones like Pikachu Detective and Super Mario Bros. The Movie as well.
While Sonic got a second movie, it wasn’t as popular as the Mario movie. However, that is something that seems to happen when it comes to video game movies, where some are better than others. With this new Borderlands movie coming up, no one knows what might happen next with it. But, the thing is, the movie is already rumored to not be looking the greatest at the moment anyways according to GameRant.
Something that will probably be the biggest struggle of the video game adaption is that the sense of humor of the game is a big part of what makes it speical, without it being done correctly, it won’t be what everyone is expecting of it.
The Director Eli Roth is said to have been surpised when they learned the movie would be getting a PG-13 rating, when he expressed that he had put a lot of blood and guts into the movie, seemingly suggesting it should have gotten a R-rating to be more like Marvel’s Deadpool prehaps.
We can hope that the movie will be in better shape than it is now, but the time it releases.
