You Can Watch The First Episode Of Knuckles On YouTube!

April 30, 2024 by Todd Black

A warrior’s gotta do what a warrior’s gotta do.

It’s very easy to say that Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends are having one of the best periods of their lives. After all, they not only had a big bounce back with one of their console titles from SEGA, but in the live-action space, they’ve had two hit and financially successful movies, with a third on the way. If that’s not enough, those first two movies led to the announcement of the Knuckles mini-series, which was released last week on Paramount+. We’re sure that many of you haven’t seen it because you don’t have a subscription to that platform. However, if you want a “sneak peek” of it, you don’t have to go to the streamer; you merely need to go to YouTube.

That’s right! Paramount has put the first episode of the Knuckles series online for people to watch for free. It should be noted that they have done this with other series in the past, including their hit series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. They even uploaded the show’s entire first season at one point, though that’s not happening here. Or, at least, not yet. If you want to watch the first episode of the show, you can check it out below:

While it’s true that Paramount has dropped episodes, or whole seasons, of their shows in the past, one has to wonder why they’re doing this so quickly after the show’s release. After all, it JUST arrived on Paramount+, and just days later, it’s getting one of its six episodes dropped early? That would make some people suspicious.

One thing that’s easy to point out is that while the mini-series does retain the voice acting talents of Idris Elba as the incredibly blunt Echidna and others from the movies, critics and some fans aren’t as high on this show as they are the movies. If you look at the Metacritic numbers, it didn’t get a lot of praise from critics, and fans felt it was only “good.”

Some reviews said that Knuckles was barely in his own show at times! So perhaps the viewing numbers aren’t the best, and Paramount+ is trying to get more people to buy a subscription to watch it.

Here’s the synopsis for the mini-series:

“While struggling to adjust to life on Earth, Knuckles the Echidna takes on deputy sheriff Wade Whipple as his apprentice, training him in the ways of the Echidna warrior to help him prepare for a bowling tournament in Reno, Nevada where his estranged father will be competing.”
