Persona 3 Reload is a fairly smooth experience from start to finish. Well, it is if you are playing on the default difficulty. Sure, there are a few spikes here and there but these often serve as ‘tough love’ tutorials to encourage you to interact with the game’s mechanics in different ways.

All of that aside, the game starts off light and even the trials and tribulations found within Tartarus can be tackled early on if you are consistent with clearing floors, gathering treasure, and conserving your resources (to some degree). Your first boss encounter will be the Ruthless \Ice Ravens found on Floor 5.

Ruthless Ice Ravens Attacks

In this battle, you will be pitted against 2 Ruthless Ice Ravens. Despite looking somewhat basic, these are in fact bosses. They have far more HP than your standard enemy and they can deal a surprising amount of damage if you aren’t prepared.

From what we gathered during our fight, both Ruthless Ice Ravens have access to Mabufu and Bufu. These are ‘weak’ ice attacks, with one being an AOE attack that targets the whole party. Your MC wants to avoid Persona’s with a weakness to Ice, otherwise, you could trigger back-to-back casts of Mabufu or Bufu which could lead to a party wipe.

We recommend using Asparas for resistance to Ice, or Orpheus, who is neutral to Ice.

How To Defeat Ruthless Ice Ravens

Defeating the Ruthless Ice Ravens is fairly straightforward. They have one weakness – Fire. Thankfully you have access to spells like Agi on Orpheus. If Junpei has levelled up enough, he will also have access to Agi with Hermes. Not only that, but Junpei is not weak to Ice, so he is ideal for this fight if he has been levelled up enough.

Simply cast Agi, knock down both Ruthless Ice Ravens, and then unleash a devastating ‘All Out Attack’. This won’t do enough to kill the Ruthless Ice Ravens, but it will do a substantial chunk of damage. Repeat this again with your MC or Junpei and the fight should be over. If you have enough Agility in this fight, you might be able to defeat both Ruthless Ice Ravens before they even get an opportunity to attack.

And that’s how you defeat the Ruthless Ice Ravens in Persona 3 Reload. Be sure to check back for more tips, tricks, and guides.
