Most Shin Megami Tensei games have a canonical name for their main characters, however, they don’t often have them in the game. In fact, Persona 3’s main character is unique in that they have had many names over the years, and in the guide, we are going to go through all of them. Let’s get this out of the way, this protagonist’s real name is Makoto Yuki. This is what he has gone by in most of his appearances, and it is what he will likely go by in all future media. If you want the most accurate name possible, this is the one to go for.

As we alluded to earlier, Makoto Yuki is not the only name the main character of Persona 3 goes by. If you want to go by the manga appearance of this chap, then Minato Arisato is the one for you. If you wanted to go even stranger, in the ‘Weird Masquerade’, Makoto Yuki went by the name, Sakuya Shiomi.
