Street Fighter 6 Getting Collab With Spy X Family

December 4, 2023 by Todd Black

Round 1, FIGHT!

Ever since Street Fighter 6 came out earlier in the year, Capcom has not only been bringing out some DLC fighters for players to enjoy, but also some special costumes and collaborations that players can have fun with. For example, you might remember that the game brought in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a costume pack that left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths due to the cost of it all. But today, we’re focusing on something a bit more positive because a collaboration with one of the biggest anime out there right now has been announced, and it came with a killer announcement video!

We’re talking about the announcement that Street Fighter 6 is crossing over with Spy X Family! The hit anime took over the world when it dropped its first season, and in a special announcement video, they had Yor Forger going up against Chun-Li! The animation style is a perfect mix of the two franchises, and it was a beautifully rendered peace of what might happen if these two were ever to fight! Check it out below:

For those unfamiliar with the anime, it focuses on a spy known as “Twilight.” He’s given the ultimate mission to ensure world peace between two nations. The problem is that he has to “adopt” a family in record time so he can pose as a parent at a prestigious school. The woman he takes as his wife is Yor, who seems like a regular woman to Twilight outside of a few oddities.

But in truth, she’s the deadliest assassin around and has unbelievable strength and speed. That’s why she was used for this combat video, as she could absolutely take on Chun-Li and have a fun battle between the two.

As for the collaboration itself outside of the animation video, which we wish we could get more of, the trailer ends by saying the collaboration will bring special items to the game on January 9th. The items that will be coming haven’t been revealed yet. However, based on past collaborations and costumes, it’ll likely be clothing you can have your character wear during the single-player mode or possibly some alternative outfits for characters like Chun-Li.

For example, the assassin outfit that Yor wears on her missions will likely be one of the outfits. We might also see Twilight’s suit, which he’s known for.

Either way, hopefully, we’ll get to see more animated stuff like this from the game in the future!
