Rumor: Industry Insider Alerts Fans When Konami Will Release New Silent Hill Trailers

May 30, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Are new trailers inbound?

Update:

A new trailer has officially dropped for Silent Hill: Ascension. Check out the footage right here.

Original Story…

For what felt like an eternity, Silent Hill fans were left waiting on some kind of sign that Konami hadn’t forgotten about the IP. Years went by before they finally revealed that Silent Hill was making a comeback. There are several projects in the works, as Konami shared just a brief overlook of them during a special Silent Hill video upload. But since then, it’s been radio silent from team Konami. So we’re left waiting on another reveal, which might happen sooner than you expected.

We’re heading into June, and with this month, we have a few notable stream events to sit in on. With no E3 this year, more companies are considering holding their own online stream showcase. This gives players some insight into what is being worked on in the upcoming months and the following year. Today, we’re finding out that one industry insider claims we will see another batch of Silent Hill project trailers before Summer Game Fest.

The report comes from a Reddit thread that captured a statement made by Dusk Golem. If you’re familiar with the name, this is an industry insider that had made several claims to Silent Hill being picked up for a few projects in the past before Konami actually unveiled them. So now fans are wondering just when we’ll get the next set of updates from these projects. According to Dusk Golem, they don’t know the exact date of when they’ll be updated, but the first will be before Summer Game Fest.

In particular, it looks like we can expect trailers from three particular Silent Hill games that were previously announced. Those are the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill Townfall, and Silent Hill Ascension. With that said Summer Game Fest is set to take place on June 8, 2023. So if Dusk Golem is correct, we might see Silent Hill pop back up sometime this week. But we’ll just have to wait and see if this is actually the case or not.

So far, there’s been nothing officially revealed by the Konami team regarding these projects. In the meantime, you can check out Silent Hill 2’s remake trailer in the video we have embedded above. This is a game project currently being developed by the Bloober Team, the folks who have brought out Layers of Fear and The Medium.
