Persona 6 Has Reportedly Been Internally Delayed

February 28, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

There is no word as to when we’ll get Atlus’ next big installment release.

The Persona franchise has grown up to be quite a massive IP worldwide. While the first few installments could have been viewed as a more niche video game series, the latest release gained plenty of attention. Persona 5 was an incredible launch, and players couldn’t get enough of this game. It sparked more players to gravitate towards the PlayStation 4 just to enjoy this JRPG. But fortunately, the game did finally make its way onto other platforms in 2022. Now the focus has been on the next major installment.

Newcomers to the franchise might be tempted to avoid this series purely because of the numerical titles. But fortunately, players are able to enjoy these games without having to play past installments. Again, chances are you have at least played through the Persona 5 behemoth and are curious about what Persona 6 will bring. Unfortunately, we have no details about that installment just yet. We know that the development studio is working on the game, but besides that, there’s nothing more we can really say. However, thanks to an industry insider, we might have some insight into whether we could safely see Persona 6 launch into the marketplace this year or not.

Industry insider and Resetera community member, Im A Hero Too, answered one individual’s comment asking if they had any update regarding Persona 6. According to the industry insider, there is zero chance Persona 6 will be launching into the marketplace this year. It was just this week that the game was delayed internally, and now there is only a rough timeframe. Unfortunately, there wasn’t more this individual could share regarding the rough timeframe in place for the game project.

Meanwhile, they felt that other games could come into the marketplace first. Additionally, there is a chance we might see the first marketing material released for Persona 6 during an upcoming Sony PlayStation showcase event. Again, with plenty of fans rejoicing about the work developers did with Persona 5, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise that there is plenty of pressure built up. Persona 6 has a tough battle ahead to surpass the bar Persona 5 raised. In the meantime, if you have yet to play Persona 5 and would like a bit more insight into the game, we have you covered. Below you’ll find our Before You Buy video coverage on Persona 5.
