Atomic Heart First 20 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage Unveiled

February 20, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready for its release tomorrow.

Atomic Heart is nearly here. Tomorrow, players interested in picking up this FPS title can do so across last-generation and current-generation platforms. But it’s always nice to get more insight into a game. So while we don’t have very long before we can jump into the game ourselves, we now have an opening sequence, thanks to IGN. The publication has released the first twenty minutes of the game, introducing you to the game world a bit, along with a little more insight into what you can expect.

Players have continued to describe this upcoming game Atomic Heart to the likes of BioShock. This video showcases some inspirations to the BioShock franchise that developers leaned into when crafting Atomic Heart. Of course, if you haven’t been keeping too close attention to Atomic Heart, we have you covered. This is the debut title from developers Mundfish, which throws players into an alternate reality. Here the Soviet Union continued to thrive, and with it came new technological advancements. Now robotics have been incorporated into everyday life. With a variety of mechanical beings, humanity has aided in everything from chopping down lumber to aiding surgeons.

Players are taking the role of an unstable officer named P-3. It’s become your task to visit a facility that’s grown silent. You’ll need to uncover what’s happened, but you’ll find that the area has been taken over by robots that have gone haywire. So now you’re dealing with mechanical beasts that are stronger and faster than humans. We know that there are three difficulty options here, so if you don’t want a tough challenge but are more aimed at the narrative, then that’s available. Likewise, we know that the game will take about twenty hours to complete regarding just the narrative.

You’ll also find that the enemies have been rebalanced since the last game showcases became available. If you’re interested in playing Atomic Heart, the game officially launches on February 21, 2023. When it does release into the marketplace, you’ll find it available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Likewise, you’ll find that the game will be launching on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. So if you’re already subscribed to the service, you can download and enjoy the game without throwing down the money to purchase a copy.
