Fire Emblem Engage, like many Fire Emblems before it, is all about war. War is everywhere, and it is up to you, the Divine Dragon, to gather an army to put an end to it. There’s a bit more to it than that of course, but that’s the general gist. However, if you want the support of the people, you are going to need funds.
Why? Well, because nobody wants to help you outside of giving you a handful of characters to play with and a narrative pat on the back. If you want true support, you are going to have to pay for it. This is where the Donation system comes in, and this is one of the most expensive ventures you can go on.

What Are Donations?
Donations in Fire Emblem Engage are large sums of money that you send to a specific Country (Firene, Brodia, Solm, etc.) for some sort of benefit. These are a mixture of long and short-term boons that can help you make the most of your Fire Emblem journey.
The catch, of course, is the “large sums of money” required to do it. Donating money cuts into your personal funds, and that money is used to buy new equipment, restock on healing staves, and use the Smithy. Money in Fire Emblem is somewhat hard to come by, so the choice to donate can lead to you running around with outdated gear if you aren’t careful.
How To Donate To A Country
Donating is very simple and unlocks very early on, and can be found by heading to the Somniel. If you go into the main building North of the Plaza (the restaurant that is linked to the Ring Chamber and Arena), you will see a noticeboard slightly to your left. This is where you would go to commit funds to another country.
The countries you can donate to are story-locked, so if you haven’t been to Brodia, you can’t funnel money into their coffers. The further you get in the main story, the more countries you can support, and in turn, the more rewards you will receive.
Rewards For Donations
Donations offer some very potent rewards. First and foremost, donating will result in a large influx of resources from said country. Depending on the country, these could be various foods or metals. You will also unlock the ability to adopt new animals after battles and get a chunk of Bond Fragments to help enhance your Emblem Rings.
These are all short-term gains, however, there are some wider implications. For example, the higher your Rank with any given nation, the more likely you are to encounter more powerful enemies when you engage in Skirmishes. Defeating these mighty foes will in turn reward you with better loot and EXP gains.
Furthermore, the number of resources you gain when exploring Post-Battle Zones increases the higher your rank. This includes Bond Fragments, which are incredibly valuable. Donating is highly encouraged as a result, but always be aware of the cost.
To Donate, you need to spend the following:
- Level 2 – 5000G
- Level 3 – 10,000G
- Level 4 – 25,000G
- Level 5 – 50,000G
If those prices look astronomical, that’s because they are. Pace your donations, and don’t go too heavy, too soon on the system. You can seriously hamper your allies’ equipment growth if you drain your treasury.
