If you’re a fan of Hearthstone then prepare to adjust your decks as a new set is gearing for release. This new set is known as Whispers of the Old Gods which will come packed with over a hundred new cards for players to purchase, unlock as rewards, or even craft through the use of crafting dust. Let’s hope you didn’t already spend all your gold quite yet as these new cards will likely alter the strategy of your current custom deck builds.
To be exact, the upcoming Whispers of the Old Gods expansion will bring in a total of a hundred and thirty-four cards and from the samples offered, it seems that these cards are corrupted versions of common cards such as the Antique Healbot and Loot Horder. Regardless, there is a total of six sample cards available right now, one being a legendary known as C’Thun which has an attack and defense of six with a battlecry that does the minion’s attack damage split randomly to all enemies.
Hearthstone gamers will still have some time before they will have to adjust their decks to accommodate the latest card set as Whispers of the Old Gods will not release until April or May. With the release, Hearthstone will be introducing the awaited Standard format. Additionally, gamers will get a chance to pre-purchase fifty card packs for the sum price of $50, much like the previous card sets released. Although, Blizzard will also give players three free packs from the Whispers of the Old Gods. This gives players a taste of what cards are available with the new set and can adjust their decks accordingly.
