Battlefield 2042 Supposed Leak Reveals Mid-Season Event

December 13, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

Nordvik inbound?

Battlefield 2042 did not have the most successful launch. It was a title with plenty of criticisms online over the number of bugs and performance issues. That ultimately forced the developers to get back into the development cycle to turn things around. However, development studio DICE was not giving up on this game and has continued pushing out patch updates and bringing out new content. Today, we’re finding out about a mid-season event that was apparently leaked online by a datamine.

This is nothing official at the moment, so don’t get too excited. But still, there was a datamine leak for Battlefield 2042 that highlighted an upcoming mid-season event. DICE is apparently calling the mid-season event Battle of Nordvik, and it will last a total of three weeks. Information comes from Twitter user Temporyal who uploaded a graphic that highlights what’s to come each week. If this proves to be real, the first week will bring back the Conquest Assault. Again, we’re uncertain if this will officially hit the game, but apparently, we can expect the first week to follow the Black Storm regiment leading an attack on Nordvik, where they’ll meet the Nordvik Control Corps.

Likewise, Temporyal noted that this should come with nine rewards in total. This would make just three rewards to unlock per week. Fortunately, we should expect some kind of an official announcement regarding this mid-season event, as Temporyal noted that the Battle of Nordvik should hit this month. So those of you looking for more content to enjoy in Battlefield 2042 during winter break might be eagerly anticipating DICE to reveal Battle of Nordvik, but again it’s purely a waiting game right now.

Regardless, DICE doesn’t appear to be ending Battlefield 2042 anytime soon. The team feels confident with the state of the game right now. Likewise, we know that there is already a season 5 planned, which would kick off the second year of the game. That should mean 2023 will continue to see new content come out. It does seem like there is a slight change in heart in how the game handles. Looking at Steam’s user reviews, while all reviews are still in the Mostly Negative range, the recent reviews are mixed.

If you haven’t already given Battlefield 2042 a chance, the game is available to pick up and play today. Players are able to enjoy Battlefield 2042 on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
